Goals that work

Goal driven? I always realise the trance of setting one goal after the other when the scenery changes. You know that feeling?

Cure? Attitude of gratitude. Take time each day to devote your attention to what is already thriving in your life.

It works wonders – your breath suddenly calms down, your perspecitve widens and your sense of flow, beingness and grounding grows. So much to be gratefull for; relationships, friends, difficulties that get solved, stuck feelings that are transformed…

Working in the beautifull Memmo Baleira in Portugal – is grace

Easy to say, I know, when the office temporarily has moved to heavenly conditions. But hey – it´s only temporary as all around us is. After that a new scenery emerges, and another and… all to be grateful for.

Let Tao proceed to do nothing and yet leave nothing undone.

I hold 1:1 sessions in Mindfull coaching. Book under “Contact” and I´ll make a session.

Sexy side effect

One of the more rewarding subjects I share with my students is the inevitable setbacks in Conscious Living. Setbacks that in themselves are grow-backs – meaning; challenges to expand from. No matter how honest we have been with ourselves, how close to the core we feel – life gives us constantly opportunities to more conscious choices.
I know the reactions beforehand: “You can`t mean it!? MORE work, more inner archeology…?”
Funny enough, if we compare – what I often do – lifting the consciousness with art, we would never expect a Picasso to say: “I’ve seen it all, tried it all, no more to investigate.”
Same goes for Conscious Living. Its an art-form that walks in spirals; expansion, digest, loose sight, look deeper, broaden the perspective, go higher…on and on ????

Sexy Shadow

In 1978 this handsome guy – my Dad – took a long, deserved holiday on Rhodes with my Mum. He was a very successful designer, had a great career and a lot of accomplishments. But he also had a lot of hard times visiting his soul. Being a bi-polar spirit he knew all the dark nights and also the very very light ones.

But one thing he mastered to perfection and tought us children was embracing the totality of being – shadow and light. The not-so-sexy moments when we realise our own so called shadow side because we have invested a lot of energy in hiding it and only showing the flashy bright side.

Somehow in his darker moments he reached the wisdom modern psychology today knows as a fact: That not until we embrace both sides – the not-so sexy shadow and OWN it alongside with the brighter appealing side – will our lives flow. It is in the hiding, striving and editing of ourselves that we hide the light, the spirit, the very thing people around us fall in love with.

Mindfulness is certainly one solid way of gaining this insight. Embracing all sides of your personality and…first and foremost: With Loving Kindness. Observing when the so called Dragon shows it´s face – mostly when we are stressed out and over-loaded in the brain and just stay present with the sensations.

How do you own all sides of you? How do you fall in love with that hidden side in you? Life is too short for the in-liner life.

Creative thinking

‘Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail.’ Kinky Friedman

In my experience, the more I look toward my own moments of spontaneous change, the more those moments seem to occur. Like first time I dared to teach without a manuscript – and found my students surprisingly awake after class 😉 And followed that path ever since (10 years ago). Where did the advice come from? From a silent whisper inside almost not heard in the noise of education, advice and traditional teaching.
Or the day I decided to slow my pace to the almost unbelievable and realised.. I achieved the double. Again the inspiration came from a deep down knowledge reached by peeling off layers of habitual thinking.

How often have we not all been taught to copy and learn from successful people. But not two persons are alike – so what to copy..? We all have the golden answers inside. Do listen – deep.

How do you love your dog? How do you dig into your OWN spontaneous changes advised by inner wisdom? My way is to allow the thoughts to flow by and simply let the inner wisdom pop up spontanously with all its beauty. And along the way embrase the rational mind as it feels insecure not being center stage. Embrace it with mindfull loving kindness?

Do you feel curious finding back to your own inner guidance? Book a session on Skype and I´ll love to coach you on the way.

Go deeper!

(English version below)

Taler varmt for vedholdenhed.

Immerse yourself!

I just come back from a great yogalesson, and on my way home, my first yoga teacher, named Frantz poppede up in my memory as a genius. We speak 1988, Købmagergade, Scandinavian yoga and meditation center, orange suits (not mne – the teacher´s). Frantz calmly and patiently greeted my stressful body, which could not last for five minutes at a time, then the gremlins were in line. Unrest, stiffness, constantly looking for an excuse to escape.

But Frantz gave time; Designated breathing techniques, good sleeping positions, soothing meditations … and BAM! I was hooked. This stuf worked! Gradually and beyond what felt like eons of time came the calm, firmness under the feet, peace in the head and a deep body contact.

Frantz’s magic formular probably rested for a good deal on the fact that he styed focused in the same school, the same direction, the same philosophy in all the years. It gives a depth, a calm, and a solidity, which was a genius counterweight to mine and many of my co-yogi’s unrest. And furthermore Frantz´s master teacher was Swami Janakananda, who went to India in the 1960s with the Danish name Jørgen in his passport, and returned home with a new name and energy to establish the Scandinavian yoga and meditation school in 1970.

Swami still lives and is a living proof that persistent yoga and meditation practices work. He lives in Sweden in his ashram in Småland, and often goes to Copenhagen and holds a thunderbolt. For example, speaking warmly for perseverance. Do not zap and switch between traditions, but immerse yourself and learn things thoroughly.

Probably, that’s one of the reasons why yoga has become so popular the last 15-20 years ..? As a counterweight to our zapper life, which removes us from ourselves, the body, the mind, the calm and all that, meditation and yoga slowly (re-) builds.

So yes, the echo after Frantz’s hours still lasts. “Immerse yourself in the dirt – and see it work!”, he finished most lessons with. I can not say what works for others, but I can look at a development in the world where yoga and meditation are filling more and more – and feel happy! Because what I’ve felt like a miracle cure ever since the orange yoga mat in the late eighties, I wish for all fellow human beings.

Satnam, namaste, have a nice weekend!
